Our Team:

Tami Hass - Tami's professional career includes over 30 years of power and natural gas industry experience, highlighted by extensive engineering and construction management. After 20 years with Salt River Project, she joined CMX Engineering to create and manage their Utility Services Division: providing comprehensive benefits to their clients across the full scope of development. In 2009, she partnered with Tim to create CivitAZ. Tami's extensive experience in both public and private sector management promotes timely communication and cooperation between utilities, municipalities and developers, ensuring that designs are energy-efficient, cost-effective and completed on time.


Tim Pohlad - Has been working with developers and land owners managing every aspect of their Dry Utility needs for 20 years. In 2009, as companies continued to downsize, he formed the CivitAZ partnership with Tami to leverage their multi-disciplinary expertise and real world experience to support the development community and fill their need for experience and support developers and builders no longer maintained internally. In 2011 he started working on the the concept of an internet community portal for land development research and is in the process of bringing that portal active as the CivitAZ Project community website for dry-utility research and development.

Starting in 2011 and continuing today, CivitAZ began work for DMB on their Eastmark project in Mesa, Arizona. Eastmark is a 3,200-acre master-planned community that includes residential, commercial, parks, and educational facilities. Opening in 2013, Eastmark has developed into the top selling master planned community in Arizona in 2015 and the only top 10 community from Arizona nationally: ranking #8 among the top selling master-planned communities in the nation for 2015. CivitAZ worked with CenturyLink to open Eastmark as their first Fiber to the Home community in Arizona. After two years of pre-development work getting the Eastmark community established for its opening, CivitAZ began working with Taylor Morrison Homes. Taylor Morrison was the top ranked Arizona builder and in 2014 and again in 2015 in Arizona and recently received the Lifestory Research's 2016 America's Most Trusted™ Home Builder national award. Project Management and Coordination

  • Team development and coordination of specific elements / requirements needed for successful integration of Electric, Gas, Voice, Video and Data systems.
  • Hands on coordination with client, homebuilders, civil/electrical/mechanical engineers, architects, landscape and golf course architects and construction managers to ensure accurate, build able designs, which meet project requirements.
  • Manage the gathering, timing and distribution of essential elements required by utility companies for the completion of designs and contracts within the working schedules of client, home builders, and utilities to meet construction schedules required by projects, reducing costly delays in field.
  • Master plan coordination to prevent costly oversights in planning and implementation of future utility infrastructure affected by current design and construction.
